Matt Lewis RD, CD, MBA, has a passion for health and working on helping others achieve their health goals. He has worked in the healthcare field for over 8 years and plans on working in this industry for the rest of his career. Matt has worked with direct patient care and loves helping change people’s lives for the better using what he has learned, both through his studies and personal experience.  He has the drive to help the system work better for the community and try to facilitate this in any way that he can. Seeing changes that have a direct influence on and impact the betterment of the individuals he works with is why he loves doing what he does.  

Matt is a Registered Dietitian and Department Head of Medical Nutrition Services. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics and his internship was received through Idaho State University. Matt has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration received from American Public University.  

Matt started school as a business major but chose to change majors when he attended a nutrition class that hosted a registered dietitian as a guest speaker. This drove his academic career to work as a dietitian. After working in the healthcare industry for a number of years, Matt wanted to make changes in the healthcare system on a larger scale which pushed him to work towards his Master’s in Business Administration. Matt believes we all deserve quality healthcare and he is determined to help make this happen. 

Some academic achievements Matt has achieved is that he was placed on the Dean’s list for both his undergraduate and graduate degrees. He is also a member of the honor societies, Phi Upsilon Omicron for health sciences and the Society for Collegiate Leadership and Achievement. Matt has also played baseball and softball throughout his life. He helped bring his high school to their first-ever playoff and has won district and a championship in his men’s softball leagues. 

Matt’s interests include playing and watching most sports and staying active. He loves to play baseball, softball, racquetball, football, golf, and also likes to wakeboard, hike, camp, lift weights, and try new things. He also enjoys playing video games, fixing and driving RC cars, and spending time with his family and friends.
