Andrew Hansen is a board-certified PA specializing in primary care. He was born and raised in the beautiful, beating heart of California: Bakersfield! He came to Utah initially for his undergraduate studies where he graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s degree in political science. Before graduating he met a local Utah girl, and the two were married in 2012.
They returned to Southern California where Andrew attended Western University of Health Sciences and attained a master’s degree in physician assistant studies. He began practicing as a PA in 2019 in the Redding area of Northern California where he worked as a family practice clinician in two different FQHCs (Federally Qualified Health Centers) and found his passion providing care to the underserved and those experiencing homelessness. He led a medical team that performed house calls for patients that were unable to come to the clinic. He also worked as the primary provider in a one room clinic in a homeless shelter. Most recently, Andrew co-piloted a diabetes clinic, driven by his personal experience with the condition, to help patients take control of their health with greater urgency.
Andrew and his family recently traded the beautiful coasts and towering redwoods of California for the mountains of Utah. He loves spending time with his wife and 3 kids, doing anything adventurous or just lounging around together. Their family also includes two rescued animals, a Great Dane and a cat, as well as 13 chickens that they recently inherited upon moving here. Beyond his professional and family life, Andrew is a proud “nerd”: he is a die-hard Star Wars fan and has been to multiple conventions (may the Force be with him!), he plays hours-long board games with friends and family, and he enjoys listening to music (he has a growing vinyl collection) but also played baritone in BYU’s marching band and trombone in a BYU jazz lab band. His skills don’t stop there: he is competent—sometimes even mediocre!—at a variety of activities and sports, but enjoys hiking, tennis, pickleball, and soccer the most.
Andrew looks forward to being a partner with his patients in helping them achieve their health goals.
