Dr. Callan Parra completed her pediatric residency in 2024 at the University of Utah. While in pediatrics residency, she received an AAP grant for obesity prevention and started a nutrition elective for her co-residents. In addition, she was able to travel and work as a pediatrician in White River and Tuba City with the Indian Health Service (IHS). She completed her M.D. and was a Public Health Service (PHS) Officer at the Uniformed Services University with IHS from 2017-2021. While in training, she received “The Surgeon’s General Ensign Award,” which is given to one PHS officer who practices excellence as a medical trainee.
Prior to medical school, she went to University of Pennsylvania where she trained as a division-one athlete and scholar. During her undergraduate years, she fell in love with pediatrics while traveling and delivering healthcare services to children living in Botswana and Honduras.
After finishing residency, she works as a general pediatrician at Sacred Circle Health Care. Dr. Callan Parra interests include pediatric obesity prevention, nutrition, and ways to optimize disease prevention for her pediatric patients and families. Outside of work, she loves to do yoga, run, hike, climb, ski and bike; she enjoys being outside with her dog, Remi.
