Saskia Spiess, M.D., is a board-certified family medicine physician who focuses on Women’s and children’s health, the medically underserved, and teaching future healthcare providers. She received her B.A. degree in Human Development, from the University of California, San Diego, and obtained her M.D. at Drexel College of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Spiess completed her residency in Family Medicine at the University of Utah and worked at the Community Health Centers, a FQHC until 2021. She served on the Utah Academy of Family Physicians from 2013 to 2017 and lead their efforts in CME as their course director. She is a member of the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine and the Utah Academy of Family Physicians. Her professional interests include women’s health, pregnancy and newborn care, care for the medically underserved, as well as quality and safety in healthcare. In her leisure time, she enjoys camping, biking, skiing, and tending to her “farm” with her husband John and two daughters. She is fluent in German and functional in medical Spanish.
